        North Louisiana Support Group!

The first meeting of this support group was held on August 10, 2002.  Dicy Cary-Cowart is the driving force behind the formation of the group.  Twenty two persons, patients and support persons, attended this first meeting.
 
Officers of the group are:
Chairperson -- Michael Comeau
Vice Chair --- Dicy Cary-Cowart
Secretary ---- Ruthie Wright
Treasurer ---- Dicy Cary-Cowart
 
Board of Directors:
Michael Comeau, Dicy Cary-Cowart, Matha Lou Wormington, Frances Goben, Ruthie Wright and Marcus Patillo.
 
The following committees were established:
Fund Raising ----- Lou Wormington and Qiana Brown
Communication -- Lora Willis, Ruthie Wright and Qiana Brown
Benevolent ------- Frances Goben
 
When membership forms are submitted to Slidell, all members of the Shreveport group will be eligible for the free newsletter "INSIGHT" published monthly by the Slidell Support Group. 
The support group met on  Saturday Sept. 14 2002 at 1:00 P.M. in Room A-1-2 on the 1st Floor of the LSU Medical Center on Kings Highway.
Dr. Samina Hyatt, coordinating investigator of the Scleroderma Consortium at LSU Medical Center, spoke to the group about scleroderma.
